Our Events in 2025 (so far!!)
PolyJAMorous Open Jam
Going strong every Wednesday night since 2021! Polyjamorous was co-founded by John Carter and Sage Pritchard in 2021 with the simple mission - start a band that is an ever-evolving organism open to everyone of all skill levels and backgrounds. As we say, you’re already in the band!
Polyjamorous is held Wednesdays from 7pm - Midnight at the Wellspring Studio located at 819 SE Taylor St.
The band (which yes, includes you!) also performs live every first Wednesday at the same location, as well as Paired by Poetry.
PS: Since we get asked this often, no, you don’t need to be polyamorous to be polyjamorous! :)
OUR TEAM
John Carter - Co-Founder, Events & Community Director
John co-founded Wellspring Collective with the simple mission of building a community organism that could bring together artists of different backgrounds and experience levels to further cultivate and show off their gifts to the city of Portland.
The dictionary definition of a “wellspring” is “a source or supply of something, often considered to be abundant or inexhaustible,” and when it comes to art, this can only be the case when community comes together to support it.
John is a musician, poet, and playwright who also teaches at PHAME Academy, a music & art school for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Ari Meadows - Co-Founder, Director of Operations, Event Coordination
Ari is one of the co-founders of the Wellspring Collective. She supports the space as Admin, assists with event coordination, and can often be found at the weekly Polyjams. She deeply values both music and community, and loves that the Wellspring Collective fosters both.
Ari teaches out of the studio as a vocal coach, and also teaches voice, piano, and music theory at Backbeat Music Academy in SW Portland. When she isn't teaching, Ari embraces her own musical journey as Ari Asteri, performing both as a solo artist and collaboratively.
